When are you open?
The beach house café at mudeford is open 7 days a week from 9.30am week days and from 9am at the weekends.
Please note all opening times are weather permitting
What are you serving?
We serve a wide range of food and drinks from our beach bar, shop and food kiosks.
During the summer months we have our pizza oven kiosk, seafood pod, sandwich & smoothie shack, as well as our beach shop selling essential items.
Winter months our beach bar and our grill kiosk are open throughout the day at the weekends, with a variety of hot food always available.
Our menus change regularly and we offer daily specials. Please see our menu here
Do you have any gluten free/vegetarian/vegan options?
Yes, we have multiple options to cater to many food restrictions – our menus change regularly and we offer daily specials so please speak to our members of staff for more information.
Can I book a table?
Operating a beach side takeaway, we have limited seating which is first come, first served. No booking required, just come on down!
How do we get to you?
Hengistbury Head is a car free zone meaning bike, boat or a leisurely stroll around the head are the favoured means of transport. Of course this is backed up by the land train that runs from the Hengistbury Head car park and provides a fun method of reaching us, particularly if you have kids. The land train runs throughout the summer season only.
The Beach House is virtually opposite the Jetty for the Ferries. Mudeford ferry regularly makes the 5 minute journey from Mudeford Quay throughout the summer months.
Alternatively you can catch a ferry from outside the Boathouse (our sister restaurant) at Christchurch Quay. This will allow you more time to enjoy the full splendour of the river Stour and Mudeford Harbour. The ferries do not always run during the winter, and are weather dependent.
What times are the Mudeford Ferry?
We highly recommend checking the Mudeford Ferry Facebook page as their service is weather dependent
How far is the car park?

The car park at Hengistbury Head is a little over a 1 mile walk from the beach house at mudeford, this takes about 25 minutes to walk through the flat path in the nature reserve, unless you choose to go around the head on the beach which will take a little longer.
Are dogs welcome?
Yes! We are very dog friendly.
We even serve doggie donuts from our beach bar & have water bowls ready for your pup on their coastal walk.
When are you being rebuilt?
The plans for Project Beach House have been approved!
We’d like to thank our architects for all their work turning our ideas into some fabulous designs, and the public for all the support.
